BeyondATC More Like Beyond Expectations!
The creators of BeyondATC have announced that their advanced air traffic control software is fully compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (MSFS 2024), covering both the Early Access (EA) and Experimental builds. Users can expect all ATC functions to operate as they do in MSFS 2020, with no interruptions to core functionality.
However, BeyondATC notes that while compatibility is ensured, they have not yet been able to implement or test new features specific to MSFS 2024. These enhancements—such as utilizing Microsoft’s updated traffic models or aircraft—will only be explored after the simulator’s official release.
Traffic Models and Compatibility Challenges
For users relying on traffic injectors like FSLTL or AIG, some issues with models are expected at launch. Developers have reported potential problems, including animation glitches, sound issues, or missing visual components like landing gear. These are attributed to the limited access provided to third-party freeware developers before MSFS 2024’s release, rather than flaws in the software itself. Fixes for these issues will require updates down the road.
Custom Traffic Injector Nears Completion
BeyondATC has also provided an update on their groundbreaking custom traffic injector. Built from scratch with a bespoke 3D engine, this injector calculates every movement, from pitch and bank to ground operations and sequencing. Unlike MSFS’s native injection system—which has been criticized for erratic behaviours like “doing doughnuts” or vanishing planes—BeyondATC’s solution bypasses these constraints entirely.
The team is close to transitioning this injector from alpha to beta testing and plans to roll out the full functionality to all EA users soon as a free update.
